universities: clinical testing & product evaluation
evolution ls provide an innovative market-facing evaluation service in partnership with the NHS.
We provide a collaboration with the NHS to evaluate Medical Device and Diagnostic products with the aim of enabling rapid customer adoption of the product.
Our comprehensive range of services benefit Universities by reducing prototype production time and the cost to market via direct input from NHS evaluation.
The service was introduced on the premise that successful development and adoption of innovative medical device and diagnostics requires closer interaction between Universities and the healthcare market.
evolution ls brings an innovative, market facing evaluation service that can address the current barriers to adoption for routine use of medical device and diagnostic products within the NHS.
We provide early design consultation and management of studies that will support product design and development, regulatory compliance and provide evidence for early adoption of new products into the appropriate healthcare system. Such evidence will include comparative studies against standard and routinely used tests ("testing the test"), user acceptance and cost benefit analysis.
Each device and diagnostic will be subject to rigorous evaluation by clinicians and healthcare professionals providing the test manufacturer and the end user with data addressing functionality, accuracy, reliability and ease of use of the product. The health economics of the products, used in the training and education requirements of the healthcare personnel, can also be provided as a secondary service. The combined service offering will allow commercial feedback from both healthcare professionals and patients to the product manufacturer and so directly influencing product development and adoption.
Our services provide specialist support to Universities developing medical and diagnostic devices for use in healthcare delivery, specifically:
- In designing, developing and evaluating new products targeted at new applications within healthcare.
- In data gathered from practical use by healthcare professionals with specific expertise and experience in the relevant clinical field.
- Providing a means of optimally positioning products within the healthcare delivery spectrum.
- Providing a means of enabling the (early) adoption of products into routine use.
The benefits of this specialist support will:
- Reduce cost to product development and adoption.
- Allow specificity for University Commercialisation.
- Produce cost savings to NHS from product adoption.
- Provide patient benefits by adopting new technology.
